Live Oak Bank Pavilion Information

Live Oak Bank Pavilion

About the Pavilion

People in Wilmington know Live Oak Bank Pavilion as the new-and-improved venue inviting major artists. These big names in music and more are finally coming to the coastal town rather than everyone in Wilmington driving hours to Charlotte or Raleigh to see top performers. Artists like Vampire Weekend are now scheduling day and night shows right here on Wilmington’s Riverwalk.

In fact, this pavilion has been known to host some of the biggest artists Wilmington has ever seen. Live Nation predicted that over 130,000 people would visit this venue during the first concert season alone, and the result shattered those original predictions. Each show can fit in 7,200 people, including 2,400 seated guests and 4,800 lawn tickets.

When special guests plan a performance, people from all over the state flock to Wilmington, even from hours away. That’s no surprise when Live Oak Bank Pavilion venue sees many types of artists across country, pop, rap, and classic rock. To name a few, you might see the likes of:

  • Nathaniel Rateliff.

  • The Marley Brothers.

  • Dierks Bentley.

  • Bailey Zimmerman.

  • My Morning Jacket.

  • Slightly Stoopid with Dirty Heads.

  • Cole Swindell.

Plus, as an outdoor amphitheater, you’ll find the venue carries all amenities, including food, drinks, bathrooms, medics, and other details that matter when you’re out for a good time.

History of the Live Oak Bank Pavilion

The Live Oak Bank Pavilion venue opened in July 2021 under the management of Live Nation.

On opening day, the first act to hit the stage was the rock band Widespread Panic. Playing for a sold-out crowd, Widespread Panic performed a three-night set. The developers might confirm that when these first performances attracted people from all over the state, selling out hotels across downtown Wilmington, the ten years of development seemed worth it.

Prior to its opening night, Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo said the Live Oak Bank Pavilion’s completion would be “transformative” for Riverfront Park. Perhaps he was right. Today, the venue continues to attract guests and bring positive change to the community.

Food and Drinks

Live Oak Bank Pavilion’s numerous food and beverage options include alcoholic drinks on sale from quick-grab bars, local food trucks, and more to everyone walking through the doors. You can pick up everything you need for the day or night right from the venue. You cannot bring in outside food or drinks aside from pre-bottled water.

Cash vs. Card Policies

You can use a debit or credit card at the venue, as all vendors accept Visa, American Express, Mastercard, Discover, and mobile payments (some local food trucks may accept cash).
