Live Oak Bank Pavilion At Riverfront Park
With their first new music in half a decade, Vampire Weekend’s 'Only God Was Above Us' Tour. Set for Tuesday, 8th October 2024, at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion At Riverfront Park, in Wilmington.
The band Vampire Weekend, known for chart-toppers like “A-Punk,” “Oxford Comma,” and “Harmony Hall,” is back, and performing live in what is undoubtably the most exciting thing they've done since the pandemic. Their legendary sound mixes alternative genres of indie rock with pop, but now they've brought something entirely new, a distinctive touch, just for the Gen x's.
Supporting act Cults, will be delivering direct from their sermon, their songs “Go Outside” and “You Know What I Mean,” in their usual style.
Tickets start from as low as $10. Really? OMG, This affordable price provides a moment to experience some of today’s top bands in live action for less than the taxi ride to get here!!!
Use the get tickets button on the page to ensure you don’t miss this night to DIE for.
Only God Was Above Us, the album, will be available April 5. The band dropped the first few singles, “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops,” a double portion of first tastes of the anxiously awaited new project. So, down that deep red, rather sticky, drink and get ready for a complete set of new tracks as Vampire Weekend brings their 'Only God Was Above Us' world tour to Live Oak Bank Pavilion At Riverfront Park in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024.
Fronted by Ezra Koenig, Vampire Weekend will likely also perform some of their classic hits like "A-Punk", "Oxford Comma", and "Harmony Hall". Their most recent album, 'Only God Was Above Us,' is a moody/emo-esque fifth album released on April 5, 2024, navigating themes of catastrophe and hope. The band formed with personnel Koenig (vocalist/guitarist), Rostam Batmanglij (multi-instrumentalist), Chris Tomson (drummer) and Chris Baio (bassist). Despite Batmanglij left in 2016, he somehow continues to add to subsequent albums??? Back in the heyday of Alt, they earned their stripes mixing indie rock with Afro beat elements, and pop rhythms, and were praised for kicking down genre clichés.
Supporting Vampire Weekend are Cults, who will be delivering their distinctive indie pop-rock sounds. Cults earned a reputation with tracks like "Go Outside" and "Abducted". Their newest work, which we can't mention because it doesn't have a name... but includes a number of songs that touch on themes of nostalgia.
